Today I start the second cycle of travel pictures from round the world. These are of recent trips within Sri Lanka, which I thought appropriate on this my birthday.

They start with five pictures at the Mulkirigala Temple, then five on Yala on two trips, then five taken during the visit of a friend of the Elephant Orphanage and my favourite mediaeval temple Lankatilleke, three of Aluwihare of the view from Ena’s house plus a nearby gushing stream, and then one from one of my last trips to the East.

But the very last picture is an old one, of my days at Sabaragamuwa, with two of my students. I was very fortunate to have worked in that beautiful setting for ten years, with five before supervising the AUC English programmes from their inception.
